We are centered around making sea-wear and marine textiles fun and interesting again.
From wind breakers and jackets made from traditional waxed cotton to bespoke made to order marine textiles and upholstery, we are a brand for all sea dogs.
My name is Mary Black, I grew up around Cork harbour, with my first experience on the water being when I was two weeks old in a cradle while my parents competed in our local Friday night league.
I studied fashion design in university where I learned all about pattern making and familiarising myself with industrial sewing machinery.After I finished my degree I began working locally with marine textiles, here I expanded my skillset even more, eventually working in a sail loft. Opportunity arose and I moved to London working for a bespoke furnishing company in their production line. Through this company I worked on projects for a very high level of clientele such as commercial work for the Ritz Carlton and private work for various royal families.
While in London I was also running my own workroom which is where I created my first run of custom jackets. After much consideration this year I decided to move back to Cork, to start up my own business utilising my background in marine textile and design work. Everything that I offer is handmade by me in Cork, all of my marine textile work is bespoke and made to measure, and each jacket is cut and sewn together by me in my workroom.
